My absence and a move

My blog has been much neglected as I have returned to business from maternity leave and spent much of my time applying to (and now choosing among) graduate programs to begin this fall. I will be closing my studio at the end of this month and moving my family out of New England later in the summer to begin my PhD studies in Educational Psychology.

I wanted to do something creative with my studio equipment and use the knowledge and skills I've gained as a photographer to help other aspiring portrait photographers and those already in business looking to learn about my unique processing and business perspective. With these goals in mind I am hosting a Strip My Studio Workshop at the end of this month. It's a two-day event with lots of shooting, Photoshop and marketing information culminating in a give-away where every participant gets a piece of great equipment! There are a few studio sessions left before I close my studio doors at the end of April and I am currently booking on-location sessions through May and June with the possibility of availability in July. I'd love to see some returning clients before I leave and I'm especially looking forward to any 2010 seniors who would like to get some of the last Photography by Teya senior sessions.

I will be continuing my business on a very part-time basis after my move (location TBA next week!) and will be sharing a new batch of sessions with blog viewers in the fall. I have a number of recent sessions to post on here and will be adding them on in the coming days - for now I'll post a recent snap of my girls together - they are getting so big!

Catching Up

We are back from our two weeks in Gulf Shores! Every year we go around the same time and it is amazing that when we leave, it is summer and when we return, there is definitely a bite in the air and it is full on fall.

Tiny Dancer

As many pictures as I take and share of my little ones, I still get excited to see my daughter in print!  One of my partner businesses, The Performing Arts Connection, needed a last-minute photograph for an ad in this month's Bay State Parent.  Luckily I had a model on hand for just this kind of request (and one who happens to love dressing up in her ballerina outfit):

Ainsley had her first class of the season this week too - creative movement for 3-year-olds, and Sam is a great teacher. It looked like a lot of fun!

Some Senior Mini-Session Images

Had a great time in the studio doing the mini-sessions and got some fabulous images for the yearbook.

I know that some of you missed the mini-session day, but still would like a mini-session of your own.  I'm happy to open up the studio for 20 minute minis with the same pricing for a minimum of five seniors.  So if you want gorgeous yearbook photos with a minimum time investment, gather up four friends and give me a call!

(Re)Exploring

For some reason I didn't use this old favorite location of mine much last season, so it was a treat to have a senior session here.  K. was a divine model and was like a seasoned pro at positioning for the perfect light by the end of our shoot. 
Although it's a bit of a hike to the best spots, I think it was worth it!

Hope everyone had a good long weekend!  We ventured out today with both little ones to see the parade in Charlton.  Both girls liked looking at all the sights, but neither were big fans of the loud noises.  Started to proof K's senior pictures.  I promised a preview yesterday, so here you go!
